Little Beauty

This little beauty keeps getting bigger and bigger!  Her smart Mommy signed up for the Grow With Me Package.  So we get to meet up every 3 months for a special portrait session.  It’s so neat to see how much she has grown and changed at each session.  Take a look at her progress so far:

For her 6 Month Session we decided to meet at a local park.  I loved the little outfits Baby H wore and the pearls were an adorable touch!

This year I really want to encourage you to S-T-R-E-T-C-H your ideas of what a Fine Art Portrait Session can be!!!  Yes we can always meet at a local park… but what about something a little more unique:
– photos on a farm
– photos on a horse ride
– photos in a boat
– photos while playing in a swimming pool
– photos in a local shop
– photos on a hiking trail
– photos in your own backyard
– photos in your home
– photos at a coffeehouse
– photos in an old bookstore
– photos in a creek
– photos in a large home/mansion
– photos in a garden
– photos in an old warehouse
– photos in abandoned building (if it’s safe…and legal)
– photos in an old farmhouse
– photos in a fancy hotel
– photos on a large front porch
– photos in a large field
– photos under a bridge
– photos after a big thunderstorm
– photos by colorful buildings/walls
– photos by unique architecture
– photos in fort
– photos in a treehouse
– photos in a blanket fort
– photos in a room full of balloons
– photos in a room full of… (insert your idea!)
– photos at a fair
– photos at night… just because the moon is out doesn’t mean we can’t take photographs
There are a million possibilities out there and I want to work with you to discover them!!!  Who do you know that knows somebody?  Ask around and you might be surprised with what you come up with!!!

Vintage Diner

This past weekend I had an awesome styled photo session!  I had a few lovely models from the Piedmont Swing Dance Society join me at a local diner for a 1930’s/40’s/50’s vintage styled photo session.  (Thank you to them all!)  It was wonderful to see them dressed up and to have such a neat location to photograph at!  This was a fun and creative way to celebrate a pastime that they truly enjoy.  Some are recently familiar with the swing dance scene and some had been dancing for years!  Either way this styled session was a great success and I can’t wait until the next one… maybe it will be with you!!?  What would be your idea for an amazing styled session?

Stomach Bug Ain’t Got Nuttin’ On Us

So my family and I have been down and out with the stomach bug this past week.  I think we are on the mend but the munchkin and I stayed home today to get in a little more recovery time.  Towards the end of the day I was talking with her about how she was feeling and noticed how beautiful the light was around her.  I asked if she would mind if I took a couple of pictures of her.  She looked at me kinda funny but said ok.  She was a trooper and I love these images from her little indoor portrait session.  I would love to photograph you in your own indoor portrait session!  Just let me know when you would like to set it up!  🙂

Birthday Girl

So after photographing big sister for her birthday, this little one certainly didn’t want to be left out.  So a few weeks ago I met her and her family at a park in Raleigh to photograph this big three year old for her birthday.  We had so much fun walking (or twirling) around the lake and stopping here or there to take a photo or two.
